I wrecked my EK hatch now working on a EG for drag race only , I want to get rid of the sunroof without just patching the hole, is it possible to take the sunroofless roof from the Ek and replace the EG roof without re shaping?

 

Unlikely....

 

Get some thin sheetmetal and cut it to fit the shape of the sunroof. Tach weld it all the way around slowly so that it doesn't warp and grind the welds smooth.

get a used roof skin or a new roof skin, patching will look terrible.

 

roof skins arent HORRIBLY priced, if you're gonna do it id say go the smart route and buy a eg skin

 

I am never tired of sunroof I will never buy a car without it. but this car I am building is a drag car only, and I am removing all the u don't need parts that add extra weight, since at my location I cannot use lexan and too expensive to ship body panels so I am gutting and removing extras.

will it be decent if I cut a piece of roof from another eg with sunroof and patch it?

 

the steal is very thin, the roof is a flat surface. a little bit of heat will make the panel warp. imo a roof skin is the way to go but it's your car. just my input. good luck

 

I am not in the US so things are really hard to get and super expensive when you get it, plus shipping cost a fortune. this is why I am trying to find a easy way to do it
