Default Interior Lighting Question in EM1

Hey guys,
I'm looking to install some cold cathode lights under my kick panel and was thinking of having it turn on when the dome light does. I didn't see anything specific to this model car yet so I where wondering where to hook up the 12v and ground to achieve this?

Bump, still wondering, tried a green/red wire above the hood latch and it didn't work.

If you tapped the power and ground wires of your lights into the Wht/Red wire at connector C407, your lights would come on whenever the ceiling or spotlights are switched on.

Just to clarify... the 12v of my lights should go to the wht/red? and the ground to any ground or lgt green/red?

Splice/insert both the power and ground wires for the lights (blue) directly into the Wht/Red wire near C407:

+battery--->Wht/Red wire--->12V wire for lights--->the lights--->ground wire for lights--->Wht/Red wire--->C407--->Wht/Red wire--->Switch & Ceiling light/spotlights--->Lt Grn/Red wire--->C407--->Lt Grn/Red wire--->body ground

Ok I've looked and tested numerous wires, but I can't seem to find this C407 connector... anyone got a pic or more specific instructions on where to locate it?

Gray 6P connector above the driver's kick panel.

Thanks for all the info! I finally got it.

Now I decided to make things a little more complicated and also have the light come on whenever my parking lights are on also. I drew up a diagram of how I wired it but it doesn't work properly. I need a diode or something somewhere since right now the parking light stays on all the time.

It's difficult for me to know where/what you spliced the lights into.

Confusing diagram. What are the wire colors that were spliced into? Post pictures.

Sorry, this is kind of hard to describe so I re-did it with color coding.
Black is factory wiring, where this is a gap it was normally connected.
Red is the wiring I put in to get my light to work when the door opens and that worked perfect.
Then I threw in the blue to also try to make my light come on when I turn parking light on, when I added the blue is when the problem arises.

Obviously get rid of the blue wires. The upper one powers the parking lights independent of the switch. The lower one is giving the new light constant ground.

Again, I have no idea where you tapped into the parking light circuit. Where is the parking light switch? What color wire did you tap into?

The parking light wire I tapped into was red/black and was behind the steering column.
I drew a diagram of the two scenarios I'm trying to get working simultaneously.
The left side is what I originally askd for in this thread. The right side is if the lights come on when the parking light is on.
I want to mesh both scenarios and have them work together. I don't even know if its possible?

You'd have to install a switch to prevent the two circuits from talking to each other. Best to go with one or the other of your installations.
