Default hunting idle

When the cars fully warm, I get a hunting idle, about 600-1100, it goes up, then drops off and goes to 600, then it finally finds itself at 750ish....

GSR in 95 civic cx, Cleaned iacv, bled coolant, going in on the fitv tomorrow, could spark plugs cause this? Havent' changed them in awhile, going to check them out tmrw too.

First clean and adjust the FITV. If that doesn't help, try adjusting the idle speed.

Will do, was hoping you would reply after seeing you help out many others with idle issues.

Yeah, I don't have a FITV... lol.

So Since, the IACV is cleaned, I guess it's about time I switch out the spark plugs? been in there for awhile, and my car smokesoil and coolant =]

Does this mean that when you come to a stop, you have the idle problem for a moment and then it settles at 750 rpm? You could try stomping on the brake hard to stop the car and see if that affects the problem. You might also try flooring it from a stop on a hill facing uphill. If pressing the brake hard when coming to a stop makes the fluctuating idle worse, you might not be generating enough vacuum. If flooring it uphill from a stop causes bogging, you probably have a weak ignition. Good luck.

changed the plugs, still idles the same, goes up and the "drops off" then it gets normal.

I'm pretty sure my distributor is good, bought a new one a few months back from distributor king...

The next best thing to look for is a vacuum leak??

hahaha my turbo y8 does the same frickin thing. i think mine is caused by having my RC1000cc injectors and not using an injector driver

it's annoying to me especially sometimes usually when it's cold and i come to an abrupt stop the car will actually shut off

ME TOO! lol i have the same issue on my b16... i run off a vacuum block and it use to hunt a bit.... when i would throw it into neutral it would shoot down to 500 then up to 900 then back down and finally idle at 750... sometimes it wouldnt

i installed a 3 bar map sensor and the idle fluctuation is worse.... i also have the same issue where sometimes it will just turn off

confused on how to address the problem... adjusting the idle screw helped a bit but not much

I don't want to mess with the adjustment, i can't find a vacuum leak... tried. I'll go ahead and try with a tb with a fitv.
