Icon6 89 Honda accord lxi starting problems help!!!!

Hey everyone i just recently bought a 89 acccord lxi with about 150,000 miles on it. everything seems to work good. only problem is sometimes when i try to start my car it takes like 20 times cranking it for it to start. most the time it strts on the second or third try. and when the check engine light comes on right at the beginning it usually starts easier it seems like it runs better when the check engine light is on. if someone could lead me in the right direction on how to fix this problem that would be awesome!! thank you

What are the codes?
When it doesn't start what is missing (fuel, spark, air)? Need a little more info to get going in the right direction.

ECT sensor is your engine coolant temperature sensor. If your car is PGM-FI it is definitely your issue. Will be located on the coolant intake near the T-stat housing. Most likely a round 2pin connector.

What is the issue you are having. Hard start when cold.
What is the resistance across the sensor when the car/engine is cool. Have you jumped the sensor connector...need to have the service manual to make sure you are getting the correct connector. What is the voltage across C6 and C12 on the ecu when the car is warm and running. Also, have you pulled the fuse to re-set the ecu?
Why is the battery light on?
Last, don't go here until you've checked everything else. Have you checked the head gasket for leaks?
Need to test, sorry for so many questions but you'll need to check all of this before anyone can help.
