did a little research, seems if your not using a tilton clutch u need to use release bearing # 61-770. made for 8.5 tilton or 4.5 - 7.25 NON tilton setup.

went in the garage & checked the specs on my exedy. the forks need a release bearing with at least 2- 2.5 in contact diameter.
here is what i found.
# 61-770 specs are as followed. contact diameter is 2.05 might be small but i think that is the inside edge so it goes out to about 2.5.
only thing i am not sure about is the height. could be a little short. but that is an easy fix with a spacer. i know it wont be to tall because the factory bearing is smaller than the tilton. & i accounted for the fork.

as for the release bearings that are for the tilton. the contact diameter is 1.5- 1.75 so the tilton forks are very close compared to other manufactures.

correct me if im wrong but thats what i came up with doing a quick little research.

FWIW, Spec twins have a 1.550" ID center hole in the diaphram and the Tilton bearing works fine with it.

Can the tilton release bearing be used with a stock clutch master, or do you HAVE to use the tilton unit?

OK, So I still have not been able to find out whether or not I can use the tilton bearing with a stock clutch master... All I can see is they RECCOMEND using a 3/4 master cyl.

Anyone???

Post up your result with the stock master cylinder on the Tilton if it suffices.

We tried this last week to avoid pulling the tilton 3/4 master out of another car, the stock master did not flow enough volume to build any pedal pressure. This is why they supply the master cyl with the tilton kit.

the tilton throwout assy needs more volume to move thus Tilton required the 3/4 master assy..OMNI does sell a 3/4 master cylinder kit if Tilton master assy is pricey for the TS.

I think you will find the 61-770 is not the correct part for the HRB on a b-series. The inner diametre is too small and would not slip over the nose in thebell housing whics is 35mm compared to the 61-770 32.

Sorry forgot to add that you can use the 62-002(52mm) raiused face bearing insted of the supplied 62-008(38mm).
