Default 2001 Accord V6 Advice

I just purchased a 2001 Accord fully loaded with V6. Two questions.
1) What is a good manual to buy to get.
2) It has intermittent dash instrument cluster lights when Lights are turned on. I suspect the light switch (combined with turn signal switch). Any thoughts? Or directions on how to replace?

Thanks,

I would get the factory service manual and ETM ( Electronic Troubleshooting Manual ). They are expensive but contain all the information you need to fix pretty much anything.

Can you give more information about your symptom?

Those above are the best, but a regular Haynes or Chilton's at the auto parts store will get you most of the basic stuff like capacities, firing order and most of the basics.

My instrument lights work intermitently. They either come on when the lights are turned on, or they don't. I can not make any correlation to other factors. All exterior lights work. In the dash the Shift indicator lights work all the time. When the instrument panel lights do work, the Dimmer also works. When the linstrument lights do not work, playing with the dimmer **** has no effect. I have only had the car 4 days, and the condition was disclosed before the sale. I figured I could solve the problem with a little work. No fuses seem to be blown. Previous owner did report replacing some bulbs in the instrument panel, but did not seem to think that was related to current problem. I just need advice on which components to focus on. I am inclinded to replace light switch/turn indicator first.

Thanks for the added info. The problem could be in the dash cluster somewhere since the exterior lights aren't affected. However, to be sure I would have to look at a wiring diagram. Known good used combo switches are probably cheap and they are easy to install.

What does it take to remove and replace an instrument cluster? Is the dimmer **** intergral to that cluster of seperate unit? Would a Hayne's or Chilton manual cover tremoving the instrument cluster? Thanks for the advice.
