What should I launch my car at?
Ok I went to the track for import night and ran for the first time at the track. I had a blast but i wasn't to impressed with my times. I expected way better. My Del Sol has a boosted d16z6 and I'm running ten pound pounds of boost. My tires and suspension are all stock. I was launching the car around 3 grand. I was running in the 15's. So what do you guys think I should launch at? Btw I'm currently in pursuit of new wheels and tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatever works, everything is diff. I have no idea on a single slammer, as I have never had one, but on slick I launch @ 7600, but boosted GSR. On street tires I would prolly round 5.
The REAL TRICK is to learn how to preload!!! This is what you do:
When staging and you rin deep stage waiting for lights to count, pull up the e-brake and hold the button in so you can drop it quick. Now hold the e brake and slip the clutch out until you feel the car start to squat and ready to roll. HOLD it there, and when your ready to launch you slip the clutch out and basically let the e-brake down @ the same rate you slip the clutch. This causes the car to roll off, and when you finally get the brake off and going the car will hook it's *** of!!! IT takes practice but IT REALLY WORKS!!!
ALSO, this helps to NOT BRAKE AXLES!! When slipping the clutch out wit ebrake on, think about it. All the splines on the axles, and your gears in your tranny are all pushing together, and locked up. When you just dump the clutch it shocks everything, gears and axles, and just makes you spin your *** off, and brake axles...
Hope that helps...Just try and remember it takes a while to get that down, just seat time @ the track and practice, and when you finally get the car to hook, you will know it...lol
