It only flickers when I brake but it's not constant... Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't... Oil is filled up all the way, and the car doesn't seem to run or sound any different... Again this is only when braking does it do this, and the light never comes on solid, only flickers and sometimes very faintly at that...

I'm just looking to see if anyone had this issue before and what they did to replace it... Doesn't seem like it could be the oil pump, because it's not constant and if the pump was bad I'd imagine it would show signs of being faulty or at least throw a solid oil light all that time, not flicker randomly when braking... I checked the oil pressure sensor connection and it seemed like it was snug with the connector... I'm gonna change the oil and drop the pan to see what's going on but just thought I'd see what others have done...

I also heard to swap out the pump I have to remove the crank pulley and all that, wtf..?

 

sounds like some foreign body is in your pick up. I would try to change out the sensor itself.

 

Measure the oil pressure. Do you have a low idles speed problem?

 

hmmm before u get a much bigger head ache ..i had this problem and the solution i needed brake fluid ...dnt know if thats the case with urs but might wanna check that out....

 

That's odd, are you sure you're not confusing the brake light for the oil light..?? I had that issue before as well lol...

But thanks for the other suggestions, I'm gonna call around and see where I can get an Oil Pressure Tester because I doubt Autozone or Napa would stock one, or would they..!!

 

Have you ever heard of a pickup failing..??
