Got a 95 del sol just rebuild engine an installed it and i never had an idle problem before the engine blew but i rebuit it and put the engine back in and now the idle on it is crazy. It idles from 1000 to 3000 up and down up and down when it is parkd idling. If im driving it it runs fine and all that but when i pull to a red light it is really embarssin when the car is idling up and down.. Ive messed around with the idle cable wit no luck someone says it can be ur idler air control sensor....Does anyone know how to tell if this is bad if i unplug the sensor the car only stays idled at 1200 and goes up and down to about 1500 but when u are driving it with it unplugd it wants to stall out if you are driving the car in lower gears and its running about 1500 rpms does anyone have any ideas i need to get this fixed cuz ims elling the car soon

 

Check for vacuum leaks.

Make sure the throttle cable has about 1/2" slack.

Clean and adjust the FITV.

Clean the IACV.

Any CEL codes?

 

checked vacuum leaks and cant find any and i will adjust the throttle cable in morning and what is the FITV and IACV and CEL codes i dont know how to check them or what exactly u are talking about should my car show codes if so how do i do that and what should i clean the FITV and IACV with
