Slammed Questions, Top Hats?
Okay, so it's about time for me to think about ordering my GC's and Koni's.
To custom spring rate or not to custom spring rate.. I'm currently using this car as a daily driver, I want to slam it pretty good, I'm going to buy the extended top hats, maybe 3 inch drop?
I really have no clue if that's a lot or not.. Do I even need the top hats?
Are the stock spring rates okay for a drop like that? "Dut" I think it was with the real EK9 rode really slammed, said he slammed his shock towers when he drove it.. That's okay? Seeing as his car is way nicer than mine..
Sorry I just basically need an explanation of all this. I really want to go as low as I can safely.. I know my ride will get shittier, that's why I said 3 inches and not 4

I would deffinetly get top hats for a 3in drop at least in front.
Slamming the shock towers is bad, you will need higher spring rates if you want to be slammed and not do this.
You can make cuts in your shock towers and box them in to make it higher, that will give the uca more room to go up.
There a lot of people on here that are more then a 3 inch drop and don't hit the shock towers

I would say yes, however i deffenetly dont know everything, hopefully someone with a little more knowledge on this will post and correct me if im wrong.
i would look for spring rates around 400/450 front and 350-375 in rear.

When you call Ground Control you can also request custom spring lenghts, in order to achieve different ride height - stock length for 92-00 Civic and 94-01 Integra is 8" front, 7" rear.
In the 2 years that I worked there, my best ride/performance setup was a rear bias one with Koni/GC - This setup will beat the pants off of any lame full coilover system (i.e. Skunk2, D-2, BWR, etc.)
1993 Civic Hatchback
Front 8" 380lb. w/ Top Hats
Rear 7" 450lb. w/ Top Hats + GSR Swaybar
I had the Koni's all the way stiff backed off 3/4 turn front and rear. Just be careful letting off the gas when taking corners agressivly ; P
If you want to get real dumped you can opt for a 7" front springs and 6" rears. The top hats will give you almost a full inch of travel above the fender, which means you can in theory you can go inch lower than you could without them and still not hit your mounts/towers. Also, make sure and cut your bumpstops, I use 1/2 up front and only the top section in the back.
Good Luck
