Default d15 powered lawnmower

starting on my summer project. its a 1994 craftsman riding lawnmower.

putting a d15 onto it, but first im stripping it and fabbing an entire civic suspension onto it.

question.

on crv rear suspension assemblies. will a d series axle fit into the hub?

the tractor is gonna be Rear engine, RWD, so hopefully i can just shorten the axles and go with that.

already have the shifter idea figured out.

ill be taking pics as i do this project. but until then, if anyone has any parts they are throwing away, i may be intrested in them.

...not to hate on your idea but it might be easier to just make a drive belt and mower deck for your civic...just a thought.

totally subscribing though once pics start.

...so D15 under the "hood" longitudinally? ..transmission? ...driveshaft to a CRV rear diff crammed between the rear wheels of a lawn tractor? could you MSpaint a sketch showing what you're layout plans are?

not gonna be a mower deck. and i dont like the drive belt idea, already tried it in the past with a 26hp vtwin, and i got to 52mph on the gps and the belt started slipping badly and flew off lol.

no crv rear dif. ill be using crv rear spindles if the splines are the same as a d series axles. if not, ill be cutting and welding axles together. the engine will be sideways like normal but it will be in the rear of the tractor, and ill be using the under hood portion, to house the master cylinders, brake lines, fuel tank, and the radiator, im not sure yet.

im still working on some rough plans so ill post when they are ready.

im not even gonna say what im doing for a body for the tractor yet. ill let everyone see that once that part is done.

but it will be considered a street legal driving car lol. just wanted to find a way to stick it to rhode island about not letting me register a lawnmower. so ill make a custom built car on a lawnmower frame, and yes the frame is going to be reinforced.

i wanted to originally use a normal driveshaft style tractor rear end, and just put the engine longways in the front, and make a drive shaft with an input shaft front on it. so i could go through the bellhousing, and into the clutch, and then to the tractor transmission and bolt to that.

but with honda engines spinning backwards. ill have 6 reverse gears and 1 forward gear lol.

though i could always swap it around and put the transmission in the front, engine in the rear facing forward, and make some axles that weld to the tranny and go to the stock civic spindles in the front.... hmmm.

Ah, now this project makes better sense -- the vendetta mower car.

lol at the v8 lawnmower. ive seen the chainsaw before.

but a few years ago me and my dad built one with a ford 4.0 OHV on it.

im just taking up a few steps by fitting a suspension setup onto it, hydraulic brakes, and a body. maybe even AC... why not if im already there? lol
