Default Finished Swap - Won't start

So wifey totalled 01 itr driving to school (not high school-no rich kid situation) nehoo got a 98 itr shell. Swapped motors, found out ECU is odb2b so had to swap complete interior harness. Got everything wired up and car cranks and no start. CEL comes on for 2 sec then off like it should. No CEL codes. I hear the fuel pump, even replaced the dizzy complete which probably gonna return. Sparks, smell fuel, has compression, motor was not dmged during accident only frame. Car does not sound like its about to start jus cranks and cranks. Not weak crank but strong. Even used the old main relay jus to see if that was problem and still no dice. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Even took out alarm just in case it cut fuel or spark. Getting stressed plz help thankz.

spray carb cleaner in the tb....to see if she turns over. turn the key in the on position 4 or 5 times (not cranking just turning the key to prime the fuel pump.) maybe and air bubble.

man honestly its much easier to just repalce your ecu with obd1 with a jumper harness or have the immobilizer removed and have have the other chip installed so no CEL

helpful info
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-prelude-4/ecu-replacement-immobilizer-system-2731793/

or this will work

I have all the exact info on it but the Moderator Gods will ban, delete... maybe even..... "gulp" kill me so ask a mod on specific details

well i have the ignition on the other car.. if i remove it and put it on the new car, wouldnt that save me alot of money for new ecu/jumper or ecu/swapping interior harness back.. i have the 01 interior harness in the car so the only thing atm that is 98 is the ignition/key. Or am I wrong to think swapping the ignition assembly would work. Again i have the 01 ignition and keys still and dont mind swapping it out to save $1k. Let me know if I dont get it because this is the first swap for me and first time dealing with immobilzer.

Well I can do a straight trade for your 2001 ecu for my 98 ecu since I now own a 2000 itr. I would even do the drive.

this dude is right... ur car will crank over strong and everything will sound and look good... but the immobilizer on the doesn't recognize the key and/or the ecu so the ecu goes into defend mode and shuts everything off not letting the car start... its a easy fix take it to honda/acura and have them reprogram the key/ecu/immbilizer shouldn't cost no more then 100buxs depending where u live... btw I talk from experience

just buy the chip $35 plus shipping, take out the stock immobilizer from the 01 itr ecu. very easy to do and lot less headache then all this wiring and ignition BS your trying to do trust me.

you can take out the chip right now and start your car with the info you have so far. look it over again

if you still have your old shell surely the easiest/cheapiest way is to use ur ignition barrel and the immobliser box from your old car now that youve changed the looms over since you will have all the parts there, therefor not costing you any $

if you go this route change the door locks also so that ur only using 1 key

surely he will just need 2 swap the barrel and plug in the immobiliser box then since the odb2b interior loom will have this plug on it

check your grounds, a single flimsy ground will not let you start your engine.

Oh wow thankz everyone for the help and ideas. I have had a crazy week wit da drama at work and whole 9 yards so sorry i wasnt able to get back on here and post any responses. Good thing first. Got it started. Thankz rene for reminding me about the immmobilizer bc you were spot on bro. I asked a few ppl about the ecu route and chipping route but I just kept hearing $$$$ and time.. to be honest im moving in less than a month so time and money is not something i have. So yea swapped out the entire steering wheel/ignition assembly down to where it connects to the rod from the rack&pinion @ firewall.. sorry for not being precise about part names. The wheel will be off slightly but i can deal with that until i have someone with the tools fix it and possibly just align it. Thankz for the ideas and none were bad it was just whats right for my situation. This thread may be good for someone down the road but unfortunetly it only worked for me since i still had donor. Would be different if I bought motor/harness/ecu from shop and try to install. Thankz again and hopefully ill be able to have it ready for EFvsDA meet. link if your local ~> https://honda-tech.com/forums/northern-california-86/nor%2Acal-ef-da-meet-its-official-2796904/ stay up everyone ^_^b
