there is much to consider grasshopper.
May I ask why you feel the need or urge to "UPGRADE"?
if the answer is that the 500 simply can "thrill' you anymore, there may be more for you to look at than the "Rush"

grasshopper? lol nice. No i have done alot to my bike to make it look better but i just dont like the style or feel of the bike anymore. Of course speed never huts. I have rode MANY bikes and found im liking the CBR's and suprisingly the ZX14.

then you've answered your own question, walk across the rice paper ever so softly.

keep the rubber side down.

On a serious note, the 500 is a great little bike for getting around town, you don't have to worry about it being stolen or dropped. But there are many things it doesn't do well, it can barely get out of it's own way, it doesn't travel long distance very well in comparison to other purpose built bikes, it's handling is not really state of the art.

before you upgrade, you need to ask yourself...
what are your plans for the new bike? what type of riding will you be doing? is comfort an issue? etc etc

i totally agree on this. If all you do is just drove around the town then there is no need to change and upgrade. If I was on this case I probably will just maintain it that way it is. Don't spend your money in upgrading this bike since it fits and works good the way it is.

If your planning to upgrade this for the purpose of racing or other sorts of stuffs you better think twice.
