Reasonable body paint quotes for a CRX?
Since it's a fairly small car I was wondering whats a good paint quote. I'm looking forward to painting it back the original R72-P paint color.. So if anyone has ever got their crx painted before or a knowledge of body work Please Let me know something Thanks I truly appreciate it.
I think depending on the job it will be between 1,000 to 5,000. 1,000 will get you a super cheapo maaco paint job and 5.000+ a show quality masterpiece. This all depends on how much body work/ rust repair the shop does plus paint.
My friend quoted me a ballpark figure of $2500-$3000, depending on the amount of body work needed underneath my badly fading R-81 CRX.
Though the actual body work itself seemed minimal, to both him, and I. He stressed to me, that most of figure is based on the amount of prep work needed, to render an above average paint job.
80% of the work, and it's associated labor fee is based on how much, and how well a car is prepped for painting. And when it comes to a good auto paint job. You get what you pay for.
It is so labor intensive, and with that read, 'expensive', that he continually tried to talk me out of doing it. For fear the car itself wasn't worth painting, in his opinion.
all things stated are true...
i also work in a body shop and have seen the hours put into the "normal" collision job.
if you are serious about having a "mint" car then it will take ALOT of work.

I got a quote today for body and paint estimate. $1500 dollars and that includes Paint, Body work, and the door jambs. The owner even stated they do quality work as in alot of removal of the body parts to better paint them and the car. As someone would say, "You get what you pay for!!"
