I'm gonna make it easy on you. 95% of the time black is ground.

I own like 10 test lights and the problem was the *** that I bought the car from was just straight removed the relay and when I first got it I noticed instantly it was the incorrect fan, so I replaced it back in December haven't really drove the car more than 1500 miles since the rebuild. But I noticed the other day when I was at a buddies house we were standing outside of the car talking and it started pissing our radiator fluid I investigated fan wasn't on took it home jumped the relay slot with some wires the old fashion way and it ran for a day and quit. Just ran the toggle there's no problems but hopefully I don't leave the the fan on while I'm out in about don't think it'll be a big deal any way I have a Yellow top Optima and that thing is amazing when I had my 97 ex I could park and play music for hours and still start up no slugging and I had 2 12's in it with 2400 watts of power, but partial of that was probably covered by the capacitor. Thanks for the input guys.
