EP3 hatch is stuck closed

EP3 hatch is stuck closed
I plan to drill out the plastic latch from inside the car and just replace that part.
Anyone know what that part is called? I tried "latch" and nothing.
No idea how it got stuck. You can feel it lock and unlock, but if you pull on the handle there is no give on the handle. Like it's Jammed!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
