Odyssey steering wheel locked?
About a year ago we had some issues with the transmission in our 2002’s Odyssey and had to have it replaced. At the same time a few times the gearshift would lock in park and there was no way to get it out. A mechanice told us how to get it to unlock: Remove the little cap on the stearing column on top, back towards the gear shift and stick something (another key) into to and unlock the stearing column.
Well a year ago this only happened a few times and once the transmision was replaced it didn’t happen any more. This is until about two weeks ago, now the gearshift is ALWAYS locked and we always have to stick another key in that whole to unlock it.
Does anyone know what is going on? Is this a transmission issue or is it something else? Any thoughts on how invoved it is to get fixed? Might it be a DIY job?

im a little confused your title says wheel locked but you discription says gear shifter. but anyways it seems to me the locking mechanism is broken, or possibly the brake switch isnt releasing the shifter lock
