Default d16y7 help.

looking for help with a y7 stock motor but having frustrating problems. i've checked for help in clubcivic no help maybe you guys can help me fix this?
http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=191379

i had put in a felpro head gasket, and it leaked water into the oil, i had gotten an oem and i no longer have water in the oil but i still get white smoke i let it run for a while and on idle which is set properly it does not puff white. when i try to drive it it starts up.

the idle now was fixed when i had to replace the o rings on the injectors, i was getting CEL code for mis fire cyln 2. that is fixed no more CEL codes.

the idle runs "ok" but it still wants to bog and die once n a while but never does.the engine makes a the same tapping noise. motor runs really rough, should i try to repair this or just splurge and get another motor? is it worth to fix there is only about 150 k on motor id rather keep it around a bit longer.

The white smoke suggests there is a problem with the new head gasket installation.

no disrespect, but it seems like the work you are doing is of no real benefit since you still have issues. i'm all for more folks being able to work on their own stuff, but even i need the assistance of a professional sometimes. bite the bullet and take it in. at the least you should be able to get a sound diagnosis and list of needed repairs. it's well worth the diagnostic charge.

yea im aware i did shotty work, at the moment being unemployed isnt helping that i can take it in, if i can get soem info to figure something out im just exploring my options, would it be ok if i took the head off and reused the head gasket?
im trying to get a mobile mechanic to look at it and diagnose it and a decent price quote but i wonder will i be spending more to fix it?
and thanks for the input atleast i know where i should be headed as far as what i should be aware of.

my y7 had some head gasket problems also. eventually warped some stuff and had to bore the block out and replace the head with on out a junked civic with around 110k on it. solid motor now. i spent around $300 on repairs. so if you aren't looking to spent much then might be better off going junkyard shopping for a new motor. may be cheaper in the long run.
