D series to B series wiring problems
Im swapping a LS VTECH into a 99 civic and i just learned this year you have to use the D series harness but you have to relocate the wires. Im having trouble figuring out which wires i need to relocate and where there located on the D and B series engine. Any help would be much appreciated.
I was told bye several different people that you could you's a D series VTECH distributor on a B series engine i was just wondering if that was true i haven't ever tried it soi was just curious if i could use one of the ones i have on an LS or GSR.
LOL, VTECH is a telephone
The term is vtec!
When swapping, you always reuse your original harness, don't bother changing it over
You can NOT use a d series dizzy and a b series engine!

lmao!!!! if you had a CIVIC THAT COMES PREWIRED FOR VTEC YOU WOULDNT HAVE A PROBLEM. but since you probably have a vx or a cx your best bet is to change the main harness.... and that harness is the one that goes on the car body. not the engine harness

If you have a 99 civic its not a VX as that wasn't an option for that year. Here's what you need to do for DX/LX/CX (unless you are converting to OBD1):
Wire up VTEC, VTEC solenoid, Knock sensor and swap from 3 wire IACV to 2 wire

You will also need to extend your primary and possibly your secondary O2 sensor. Use the DOHC VTEC bseries distributor, don't mess with the D series. You'll need to place your intake air temperature sensor in you intake arm somewhere. What block are you using? If you use an OBD1 block you'll also need to bypass the the CKF:

You may need a distributor adapter depending on which bseries distributor you get if it doesn't plug in. You can also use an OBD1 DOHC VTEC distributor but you'll definitely need an OBD2b to OBD1 distributor adapter.

thank you dymond for the correction. well at least i had 1 model correct lol.. anyways back to this thread thats a mission. by the way your vtec but as you call it VTECH LMAO is it obd1? if its obd1 then get a freaking obd2 to obd1 jumper harness cost about 30 bucks and it saves time on messing with the wires.
