How much is this 94 VX hatch worth???
Hi again guys,
Well I have been considering selling this honda I picked up but not sure what i should get for it. Its a 1 owner 1994 Honda civic vx hatch, it has the d15z1 Vtec-e in it with 196k miles on the motor. Its been sitting in a garage for over 5 years and has LOTS of body damage, the worst being the rear driver 1/4 panal, there is pretty much a dent in every panal, as of now I havent tried to start it bc the starter is bad, the interior is bad as well, molded but mostly complete, carpet is torn and most of the interior has at least some mold on it. I know i can get it running and clean it up but someone wants to buy it for a project car and I might go ahead and let it go and move on to something else. It is for sure a project car and best thing about it is the history, its a 1 owner and hes a put putter so i know the car was never abused, if i replace the starter and battery i am 99 percent sure it will start right up, I know for sure the engine isnt locked but beyond that I am not sure.
So what do you guys think??

You'd be lucky to get $20 for it , I'd actually charge you to remove it from your property.
No offense but that thing is a dog
Like the guy above me you can find CRX's /civics even Sols all day long for $400-500 that are running with AC and fuzzy dice
I'd part it out on Craigslist or something
I really laughed at the "one owner" part

Ok.. So I am going to say that I bet you anything if you replace the starter, it will NOT start. That car looks as though it sat under water for a long time before you took ownership of it. Maybe it was in a garage, but that garage was in the middle of a pond (possibly temporarily).
In my eyes, this car is worthless no matter how many owners it has had. The clean title and 1 owner garbage would only matter if the car were salvageable. Only a shady person would buy that car with those two things in mind. They would likely be planning some sort of vin swap with another vehicle.
With all of that said, GLWS!

HOLY FACK! That car is 99% useless, the only redeeming quality is the cluster. With that said, I wouldn't pay more than the cost of an EX cluster which run around $60 in my area. The fact that that car is a 1 owner means nothing for 2 reasons. 1 the mileage is high and 2 the condition of the car is horrible. Which tells me 2 things, 1 the owner drove the **** out of it getting to 200k since "its been sitting for 5 years" and 2 the engine is probably in worse shape than the body, going by the condition of the engine bay and shell. With that being said, I wouldn't pay a dime for that car.
Excellent.
And to the OP, just part that thing out, if you can. The only thing worth anything would be the motor/trans I imagine. No one wants moldy interior pieces, and every body panel is damaged. Windshield and glass pieces maybe?
Thx for the input and yea I totally understand their are good deals out there, few years back I picked up a 88 Crx si with less then 150k miles and i drove it home with the A.C blasting. This car is totally trashed but personally think with little elbow grease and attention it can come back to life, the body is shot but seems rust free.
Again thx for the input and advice!

UPDATE:
Well just to update on this topic, after replacing the starter, slave cylinder, battery and basically each of the 3 or 4 grommets that control the break light, neutral safety switch and shift light, the car started on the first turn of the key. Surprisingly ran pretty smooth as well. Also replaced the driver side fender and will replace the passenger and I have started working on the rear driver side quarter panel. The interior looks like a different car but after 8 hours or so of cleaning and removing parts to clean, looks much better. Will post new pictures soon for those who care

"seriously" with a little elbow grease and knowledge it has easily been turned into a decent looking car, of course the pics are rough, it set there for 8+ years in a garage, I love how people can post crap like "OMG you couldn't pay me to take that car and OMG that thing isn't worth 50 bucks", like everything else in life, little hard work and knowledge and you can turn something into nothing. That's whats wrong with most of the kids now a days, everything they have is given to them and they don't have to work for anything, at 16 i would have driven a dog turd if it had wheels and ran.
