I need help understanding the h22 oil control orrifice and o-ring
as the title states Im completely unsure of what exactly my head needs to have in it for the center cam cap. as of right now it has 1 somewhat large O-ring sitting in the groove that appears is made for it and it has no dowel in the center of that location..
I can't get the vtec to work and I know the problem will be obvious to h22 owners. Im just coming from B series where you have the 1 dowel in the center and an o ring that sits around it.
please help me Iv been searching for hours. this is what I found but I don't fully understand what I need to have to get things to work right.

the oil control orifice limits controls how much oil goes to the head, kinda like a restrictor for the feed line on a turbo...
yea but Im trying to figure out what my head is missing that is making me not be able to hit vtec. do I just need that little dowel in the center cam cap? or can you run without that?
you should have an oil control orifice w/ an oring around it.
push it down into the head under the center cam cap
thats it, it does NOT get another oring on top directly under the cam cap
also in surface of the block under the head there is an oil galley. the h23 blocks have an orifice installed there. you do NOT install that orifice if your using a vtec head otherwise the vtec will not work.

I checked and my block does not have that one in it. all my head has is the O-ring in it that seals it to the cam cap but there isn't a dowel like B series. sorry If I keep repeating my self. but by orifice you mean just the hole or is it like a dowel?
