Default new setup new times k20 67mm

well I knew this dialing in process would be long considering I changed up almost the whole car but things are starting to show potential already for only 2 times out at the track. Went out friday night for TnT and my first pass off the trailer was my only clean pass but a personal best. My time is on the right.

We only got the video of the burnout sorry both my video camera and go pro batterys were dead. It was supposed to rain so I didn't plan on needing to charge them before.

Car keeps having a problem losing boost...almost all boost and it's consistant everytime at the very top of first it starts to lose a couple psi but then when I shift to second I lose all but about 3-4psi then it wont build back up until I let back off of it and get back into it.

Are you using Hondata? I had this same problem with my old car and it was due to the correction factor on the hondata. I would run up to 99% boost and the correction factor would cause it to go over 100 which they told me is like starting back at 0 and causing me to not get boost. I turned the correction crap off and it worked great. Just a thought

Can you explain that a little more? Kind of sounds like the problem I might be having.

Yes, that might be your issue. Set your AIT boost correction to 0, or if the correction is lets's say +2 for temps over 100-120 just dont go over 97% Duty cycle. When Boost duty goes to 100% it acts just as it will be set at 0, Don't know if they fixed this already, but i wouldn't take any chances.
Good luck, looking good!

I don't even have boost control on through hondata so my duty cycle is always at 0%. I'm using a nlr ams 1000

thanks guys. The boost was at 16 in 1st and most of 2nd. started ramping up at top of 2nd to 21psi all the way through. didn't really see 21psi until 7500 in third.I also backed out of this pass for a split second up top becuase it started to pull left I think my tire psi was off a bit cause it's never done that. it's got a ton more in it down low once I get it figured out.

Let me vent about my problem... It doesn't do it all the time. Actually the car has ran fine on the first passes off the trailer but every pass after that has been when it is losing boost. I don't think it's the ecu because it goes back into full boost if im already in 3rd gear and doesn't lose it. It seems like when the motor is fully torqued up it starts to lose it in 1st gear which is only at 16 psi and when I shift to 2nd it loses all of it. Here's the deal I have the vibrant vanjen clamps from my turbo to my intercooler so when my motor moves I'm thinking it is pulling at the clamps enough to make it gap around the o-ring and leak off and then when I let off it seals back up. Any ideas on that or anyone seen any problems with the vibrant clamps? my cold side piping has a 4'' pipe welded to the t/b and the other end of the pipe has a regular silicone 4'' coupler to the intercooler

I saw this car at National Trail last year and it is absolutely gorgeous. I may have missed it but did you post what kind of numbers it put up?

We only tuned it to 23psi on c16 but car has yet to see 23psi do to the boost leak issues.

made 550 on 15psi
630 on 23psi

We will turn it up farther once we get this issue figured out.

No I do slowmotions paint/bodywork. The owner is a good friend of mine.

I won't be able to make it to Honda day we went testing Friday and did. 2-3-2 shift and bent some valves. Going to tear it all apart to check everything before it goes back together.

On a good note on that pass I ran a new pb looks like it was headed for. 9.8 pass but things happen. I cruised through the traps 10.1@119

ams works very well with c02 and you can actually use it as a trouble shooting device. do you have an air compressor? you can use that for testing. with the car off, target 30psi on the controller. you should see a rock solid 30psi on your display screen on the ams-1000. if that number fluctuates ANY and you hear the solenoids clicking at all, you have a leak and can run into all sorts of problems.

are you logging the ams-1000 map sensor? if not, you should be....it can be super helpful for trouble shooting as well. not to mention you can over lay gate pressure vs manifold pressure to help pick your target pressure.

I'm not running the nlr for boost control right now I just have the hondata controlling it. Thanks for the tips though I will for sure use them once I get the nlr plumbed back in. All my boost issues are fixed now the vibrant vanjen clamps were not sealing correctly.
