97 accord overheating

97 accord overheating
I have a 1997 honda accord that no matter what i do keeps over heating.
Early last year it over heated for the first time and any coolant i put in leaked out within minutes. I took it to pep-boys and they replaced some hoses and the thermostat.
That worked for like two weeks when after driving straight for an hr. I parked only to come a few minutes later with most of the coolant leaked out. I took it to pep-boys again and they told me it was the radiator, that overflowed when hot. So I got a new radiator.
It lasted a few weeks when once again it began to overheat and this time they said it was the water pump. I got it fixed. This was around May. It worked except when idling when it would slowly start to overheat and also when driving short distances, like a minute of driving, the fan would start after i turned off the car.
In July of last year the engine broke on me, and i had the car just sitting there for like 4 months until i put another engine in it and since then it worked fine except for the fun turning on after short distances.
A few days ago though it began to overheat again, especially when stopped like in traffic. This time though there's no coolant leaking like all those previous times. My brother drives this car now and he says that when in traffic it helps to also have a foot on the gas because it doesn't overheat as fast that way.
Any clue to what it might be? I mean, the hoses, radiator, thermostat, and water pump are basically new. I'm pulling my hair out.

if you are overheating while idling you should check to see if your fan switch is kicking on. To do this turn the car on and wait till it hits operating temperature and the fan should come on and off. If the fans don't kick on and off then your fan switch needs to be replaced. with all the overheating you could have maybe possibly caused the headgasket to leak somewhere... to check that you would need to do a block test...

I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM I WENT TO HONDFA DEALERSHIP THE PARTS GUY SAID CHECK OIL FILLER CAP CHECK IF THERES ANY THICK STUFF AROUND YOU MIGHT HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET AND I WAS RUNNING IT AROND ALOT WHILE IT WAS HOT I CHECKED AND THERES SOME GREY STUFF THATS KINDA THICK AND IM IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING THE HEAD GASKET
