f20b exhaust and cams?
am going to be doing another h2b set up or rather f2b, am going to be using the f20b instead of a h22a though, my last setup was jdm h22a wit qsd kit and gsr tranny. anyway my question is what size exhaust should i use for the f20b, i know that the h22 benefits from the 3" exhaust, i was wondering will it benefit the f20b being 2.0 not 2.2...am going all motor mostly stock and no internal work except cams...my last setup was h22 wit sk2 intake manifold, 70mm tb, fpr, aem fuel rail, balance shafts eliminated, evo ind 2.6lb damper without a/c and ps, 7lb flywheel, comp clutch stage 3, velocity stacks, ebay header modified by me with a 3" collector and exhaust cutout. i had this in a heavy 2000 ex coupe full interior full power and i ran a best of 13.7 on bfg 205/50 drag radials(crappy), so am going give the f20b the same mods and is going into a gutted 92 cx hatch and i will be using better tires...so for my next question is about cams, am goin to be buying a auto version of the f20b for cheapness and ease to find, i understand that the only difference is the cams, the manual one comes wit type s cams. am want to upgrade them but i don't know to what..i was thinking of a sk2 pro series stage 1 cam..do i have to upgrade the valvetrain for these cams? also are there any other cams u guys recommend instead of the sk2 pro, keep in mind that i don't wanna upgrade my valvetrain...thanks guys and sorry for the long post
You'll need to upgrade your valvetrain if you're going with Pro Series cams; unless, you want valve float on your F20B motor. I think Stage 2 or Pro1 cams will suit the F20B because of its 11:1 cr.
