I posted about this a few weeks back on s2ki, but the problem seemed like a 1 time fluke so I let it go.

Well, last night and today I had the same thing happen. After driving the car for a good while (10+ miles each way), I pull into my garage and notice a VERY strong gasoline smell. Each time I have checked the gas cap and it has released a good amount of pressure, as well as a light bubbling sound when I open the cap.

No visible leaks and it definitely comes from the driver's side rear of the car, no CEL. I have read quite a few threads on the EVAP canister and purge valve and am thinking something is wrong with it. This is only happening now that it has been 100+ outside. Fuel level the first time was near full, this past 2 times it was almost at half.

Anyone else have this issue? Any solutions?

 

There is a canister for evaporating fuel vapor directly behind the drivers position next to the third member. Normal.

 

A few of the guys in the s2ki Vegas section have confirmed they get this same symptom.

I'm just surprised at how strong the smell can be.
