and I have the trans out of the car on on the ground. Usually I'll replace the rear main seal on the motor and all of the seals on the tranny when it's out. this is the first time I've a civic manual tranny and I've noticed a few things that I'd like to run buy here.
1. The tranny input shaft has a little play in it. Is this normal?
2. I can't seem to see an input shaft seal. Do d series manuals have an input shaft seal even?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: *****, looks like I have to split the tranny case. Got a pretty good video on you of someone doing it. Hope that I don't f.uck anything up.

After further inspection I may decide not to do the seal. The inside of the clutch housing is pretty gunked up as well as the out side of the tranny. the boot is missing that goes on the clutch release lever so I'm thinking that a lot of oil and dirt entered through there as there's no oil on the clutch disc of the pressure plate and there doesn't appear to be any wetness coming from the input shaft.
