need help replacing fuel pump on my 1992 accord
Alright, guys heres the deal, my fuel pump went out. I've checked the main relay and its good, I checked for spark and I have it, my battery is good and I just replaced my starter, so that leaves me with the fuel pump. Anyhow, I have never replaced a fuel pump and was wondering if anyone can tell me if they've ever replaced theirs? I know I need to drop the tank, but can you tell me anything that would be helpful, like anything else that would need to be removed along the way? anything that would help to make it easier. Any info would be appreciated! Thx!
aha! You sound like I did not 3 months ago. They're pretty strait forward. Only problem I had was the filler neck hose clamp, And the tank gets a little tempermental when it comes to the straps (doesnt want to seat-I think it was the heat shield). All in all it took me an hour and 45 to 2 hours to to it. Mind you this was in a shop with all approprieate tools, if ur doin this in your backyard good luck!
BTW: The pigtail for the pump can be unplugged from under the backseat.
