Hey I was wondering for this 1990 honda accord does this look like its fully rusted through to the point where I might need to replace the quarter panel just to get rid of the rust.. and if so how much do quarter panels for 90 accords usually go for and to be installed by a mechanic?

 

Common problem, just have that section cut out and then welded back in

 

I saw some other stuff online like Epoxy putty and heard people could use this to put into the hole to help it from spreading.. was wondering if this was true?? because Id rather go this route since I don't know anyone that have the section cut out and welded back in.. unless I go to a mechanic which sounds like its going to cost a pretty good amount of money.

 

Only way to stop rust is to remove it completely. Most mechanics won't do this sort of job properly. The one I know would just sandblast and fiberglass/epoxy fill the hole. Not the right way to fix the problem. You would have to take it to a body shop and ask them to replace the quaterpanel. Or you can do it yourself with the cheap epoxy and see rust in another year.
