Best sounding muffler on f22b1?
I'm thinking of what muffler I should use for the exhaust I'm going to have made. I was thinking of the flat black twin tip muffler from vibrant. http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...products_id=51
Has anyone used that muffler on their F or H motor? I'm looking for affordable recommendations. Something sleepy with a good throaty sound. Thanks

I have found that to keep the raspy Honda rice sound out of your exhaust it lies in the muffler & resonator combo. When a stock resonator is combined with a larger muffler it starts to sound like crap. If your going with a larger, free flowing muffler, you are also going to need to lengthen and enlarge your resonator. That's if you don't want that gay rice sound. if you want more of the rice sound eliminate your resonator and just use a fart can on it's own....... You'll get sick of that real fast! I hear them around my neighbourhood once in a while, but they never seem to last more than a week.
Apex'i WS2 (what I have and love it) or tanabe hyper medallion.
Greddy SP2 is really nice as well.
Magnaflow is what I would get if I didnt wanna spend too much.

Ghost I've gotta say that's the best explanation I have read for how to pick an exhaust for your Honda!
Most people just tell you the exhaust they use or like and don't explain why it sounds good or (in the case of most people here) don't know why it sounds good either.

Yeah well there are also people here who think resonators restrict flow.........However, they are usually of a straight through design and restrict flow very little, if at all!
well you're just a fountain of great knowledge. haha i think most of us are lucky to have you around. you seem to solve all the problems no one else can.
you could always go custom, and mix and match stuff. mine only gets raspy when im at WOT, in the car however, its pretty quiet. I dunno if its just me, but i found the headers quieted down the sound as well........

Also have the venerable Apexi WS2 after recommendations received here... Only problem is finding one at a good price...
Nice deep sound at idle, and only marginally louder than stock when WOT.. and in a good way too...
Investigate www.streetrays.com and remember to buy the entire catback and not just the barrel..
As I have said before, I always prefer induction noise over exhaust anyway...
