Default Cant explain issue (H22 EG)

ok so this problem has been ****ing driving me nuts for the past month
il be driving my car and usualy when i put the pedal all the way down i have no power
sometimes il sit at the same RPM or they will go extremely slow OR will just jump rpm like go from 3200 jump to 3600 to 4000
it almost feels like i have no back pressure or whatever its called
and sometimes when i have my foot on the pedal about 1/4 of the way and it will sputter like feel as if im pressing the gas on and off real quick
also likes to either die when i stop or surge
also once in a blue moon it will run with no problems what so ever until i shut it off
please help me diagnose this problem

any cels? Start with a basic tuneup, fuelpump, fuel filter, plugs, wires, pcv, timing, etc. What kind of ecu u running? did it just start doing this or has it always been like this?

^^^^^ x2^^^^^. Also once you got all that sorted out, you may want to consider getting on dyno and tuning it w\ a competant tuner. That will tell you about all the lil gremlins in your car and give u a chance to correct any issues.

my civic did that and i just fixed it. it was the fuel pressure regulator. check the vacume lines and if you have a spare one go ahead and change it. if that doesn't fix it check the iacv. i unpluged it once and it did something just like that.

The map sensor is the most important, since its obviously not the sensor itself, check you're wiring job, also make sure the mechanical timing is right and fix any vacuum leaks.

well i dont think it could be the wiring(FYI i didnt do the original swap i bought the car with a ****ed H22 and swapped in a new one) since it was running fine before
and since it runs perfect once in a while i dont think it could be timing unless im wrong

and i find it will run really good right after it rains here

Check the signal voltage at the map sensor at idle, is it less than 1 volt.

I am more than sure that your hatch back is doing this because the MAP sensor wiring itself is not done right. I have seen many hatches have the MAP sensor on the firewall and the actuall plug is not on the engine harness but comes from around under the battery to the map. That needs to be plugged up instead of the map on the harness from your motor. Ive seen this happen in 3 hatches. I would also look for a P28 with a H22 Base map and not the P13 considering you will never be able to turn the CEL of the EGR off since Civics done have one thus creating your car to run sluggish.

Have you tried using another fully functioning dizzy? It sounds as if the breaking up is constant, regardless of rpm's and speed.
