Default Shaky Start-up?

I didn't see any other posts about this so I don't know how common it is ...

when I start my car it shakes violenty for a good 2 minutes and the check engine light comes on... the shaking does stop but the light will stay on for a few days at a time. It is about 95 degrees outside where I live so I'm guessing that has something to do with it. Someone mentioned a misfire? Anyone else have this problem?

if the check engine light is on and blinking then it's misfiring... you need to get the codes read to really know what's going on

Wow, sorry, I completely overlooked this thread.

As mentioned by oroblram, we need to know which codes are being thrown. Take your car to Autozone or another auto parts store which will scan it for free, then post the code(s) here so that we can provide remedial input.

The code we got from the shop was a misfire on cylinder #3 which I'll soon replace. I'm guessing this is what's causing the shaking... that and the fact its 110 degrees outside

more often than not, misfire is due to bad spark plugs or wires/coil packs
