Engine Swap ?
I have a 95 civic cx hb with a d15b8 so i figure i might as well drop in a new engine. I prefer its legal and i live in california, so i know its a little more complicated. theres one thing i want to clear up:
ive heard that the engine has to be the same year or newer
and
ive also heard it just has to be the same model year.
so say i put a 93 d16z6 into my car, is that legal? or do i have to find a 95 d16z6?

You have a 95 civic, you can swap same year or newer.
If you put that 93 d16z6 it will be illegal since you have a 96 civic. you need 96-up engine.
you cannot put in a B20.
