Honda-Challenge Races, In-Car Videos from Lowe's Motor Speedway, Sept 7-8
Ok guys, finally, I have some video clips. I never knew how many people waited for these things until I started getting so many IMs and emails. I'm beginning to feel more like a rolling film crew than a driver. However, I'm really glad everybody enjoys them.
The whole weekend seemed to go really well for me, as I know quite a few of my Honda-Challenge Brothers had a rough time. I was quite thankful to have a fun, safe weekend. Thanks to Andy (8400-RPM) again for acting as my Crew Chief, and for all the help. And of course, thanks goes out again to Scott and Karl (founders of the series) and to NASA VA, and all the track workers who kept us safe... You guys Rule!
Enough of the small talk though... here's some video(right-click and "save as" for best results):
Saturday's Race Start:

A spin (a couple cars involved) shortly after the start:

Here's a few Laps as the race continued:

A caution came out to slow everybody down while emergency workers were on the track for an incident, here's a clip as the caution lights go out and we resume racing:

A nice little Love Tap in Turn 3a during this lap... The infield was nicely lit but shadows and dark spots made for some tricky racing. A lot of concentration goes to awareness of the locations of your fellow racers:

Starnes gets by me in the last couple laps of the race:

For several laps I was playing tag with the 58 car... I would lead the oval and then he would pass in the infield... we stayed together for a little while until he spun in turn 4b:

Awesome videos yet again. That track looks like a lot of fun from the videos. What kind of speeds are you hitting on the banked turns and coming off those turns? You guys are going fast!

Robert always produces some great footage indeed! Max speed for me throughout the weekend was on Sunday, where I hit approximately 138ish.

Man those videos are awesome! Your car sounds sweet! How bad was the damage from that hit?
Thanks, the hit did very minimal damage... I was very lucky! It damaged my brand new wheel (Kosei K1), but it could have been a lot worse.
Sweet.......glad to help.
