I need to get some bfg g-force et drags in 14". But will HX rims fit over my stock gsr brakes?

 

can't speak for the HX rims but if it helps, i have 14" black civic steelies over my GSR brakes and they fit fine.

 

hx wont fit on a 98 ls dont know about the gsr but they are the same brake system so NO it will not fit. the fronts wont fit but the rears fit. if you wanna make the fronts fit you have to get a adapter/spacer thing. but dont recommend useing the spacer adapter bs.

i've researched about hx rims on tegs on this site as i want to use them too and from what i've read is that u can use spacers or just shave a little on your brake calipers.

 

i swapped in GSR brakes... and stock 14" steel wheels fit fine...

 

the HX rims wont clear the front calipers. i know.

Nope. The RS brakes are different.

 

Well definately not on 2nd generation integras, and to the best of my knowledge same goes for 3rd generation. Care to share the difference?

 

put a couple of washers on tha lug studs on tha front and tha HX's will fit...i have done this on my gsr and it worked...dont need any washers for tha back........

 

yea i had hx wheels on the back in my gsr as well, and they fit without a problem...

 

still waiting to be proven wrong.

I was running 14' steelies on my RS and no probs

When I ordered my BFG's in 14" I got them with 14" steelies and they said 14" will fit my gsr.

considering the R not only has bigger brakes but is 5 lug....

 

ok....if I can run 13s on my RS, and I know personally of three different guys running 13s on GSR's you shouldn't have a problem running 14s. Hell, RS's come with 14s. and I'd like to know how GSR brakes are different from RS brakes......b/c I'm pretty sure that they aren't, though I could be wrong

 

It's because HX's inner clearance is smaller than usual wheels. Shave your caliper or find some other wheel.

maybe it has to do with ABS? and i know that 13" wheels will only fit on the rears.. definitely not the fronts.

 

from what i hear.....gsr and 00 si has the same size breaks and my friend tried fitting the hx rims on his si, didnt work. So i'm assuming they wont fit....but then, my friends 4dr gsr got jacked and they left him 2 hx wheels...so i basically i'm no help...sorry

 

It all depends on the offset and design of the wheel.

I know a guy running 13x8 Lenso VPD's on his GSR with no spacers. but the wheel weights have to be put some where where the calipers wont knock them off His name on Honda Tech is Geratol.

The reason a 14" Steelie fits a gsr and a 14 HX doesnt is because of the wheel design. The inside part of the spokes on the HX hit the caliper, hence the spacer.

ALL 94-01 NON Type R integras have the same size ROTORS for sure. Not sure about the calipers though, but I am pretty sure they are all the same too. These are also the exact same brakes on the 99-00 SI.
