So here's the deal..
I know for a fact that 1997+ Integra's had an side impact beam under the rear seat, its black, and its thick and heave, and goes all the from the drivers side to the pass side, right where the floor carpet end, and the rear seat begins.
Were these peices not installed on ITR's for the sake of weight reduction? See items 33/34/35 http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal
My car does not have one (00 ITR) and it appears there has never been one there,...
Now in it's place,.. if it's not there.. is there a bracket or something on each side of the car for the rear panels to clip into? See part number 83739-ST7-A00 (#9) on this parts picture http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal.
And since threads without pics suck..

I installed new oem rear panels the other day and Im clearly missing something as there is a gap around the carpet and seats meet, plus there is a spot for the panel to clip into... and nothing for it to clip into.

Well I kinda figured as much, but wanted to be sure... car had a cusco cage at one point so maybe they figured having the death cage would allow them to omit the safety beam.
Thanks,... guess I'll be heading to the wreckers to find one lol. I can imagine this part offers a fair bit of stiffness to the chassis... sometimes I think my R feels a little soft in the corners... but it might just be the re01-r's lack of sticky factor lol
Thanks a bunch everyone.
