is my head real???
ok well i was looking in the helms manual for the bolts for the head. i look and the B18c5 head has all the studs for nuts, and the b18c1 head doesnt. just 2 studs for nuts. this is my head
it has PR3-4 written on the side. is this a GSR or Type R. dont tell me ever since i been thinking its been a TYPE R. it had the green paint of whatever on that tab too.

look thought the top of the head, it should be a "30" on it. gsr is 72.
My Type-R head uses 2 studs and the rest are bolts.
when Honda switched to OBDII from OBDI.. they changed the studs on the head. The older GSR 94-95 used studs and the newer version 96-00 GSR, 98+ Type R, 99-00 Si uses the bolts and 2 studs at the end. The type R/Si head has a stamped P30 on it. If u cant tell from a GSR head and Type R head, then u got problems. they have different combustion chambers and intake manifolds have different bolt patterns so they wont fit if u try to put a GSR on a type R head and the other way around.
Calm down, I have only 2 studs as well.
My ITR head says PR3-2 I think (haven't looked in a while).

yea, calm down man. ppl usually take out the stud when they work on porting job.
Ok , look at the shape of your combustion chamber, Gsr heads are not round and look like this.
Except this is actually a r head with welded combustion chambers to mock a gsr head.
Take some more pics of the port work though , I would like to see.

ITR head and GSR head is totally different. (What you should be worried is if it is a Civic Si/Del Sol VTEC head)
But since you think it is a GSR head; What Intake Manifold are you using? Where is the Water Outlet Spout located (under the VTEC solenoid or undert the Distributor)? Like mentioned already; How does the combustion chamber look like? Check the Intake Valves.

u can relax. PR3-X stands for a B16 head, which is wat type R's use. my type R says PR3-3, but the second # doesn't matter. u have a type R head, don't worry about it.
theres a difference on the combustion chambers from a b18c1 head an a b16a/b18c5 (the b18c1 looks like it has on the chamber to pieces of metal blocking part of the chamber , and thats how a gsr head gives you more CR )
check it out

thanx tbone... now im convinced. but my Q is still about the studs, i can get 6-7 from acura carland and put them in, or should i get some bolts that will fit the holes.
if you use bolts and not studes with nuts, you need to have the right ones, i accidentally mixed one of mine up and it was just a hair too long and it broke off, so make sire you get the proper bolts
