well now my car is choking and all that and i don't know what it is , when you step on the gas it sounds like it's below the rev lim and it sounds like it gonna turn off but doesn't , i changed the fuel filter and when i filled up the gas tank it didn't really happen but it about 1/4 and it startin to do it again , and it's giving me code 17

Well, you say it happens when the tank is at 1/4th right? I had a hard time trying to understand your first post. Basically, you're saying that the car is hesitating when you give it gas?

 

well this recently happen so pretty much yeah, naw only on low RPM

 

How far can you rev the engine, like what RPM does it happen at/

 

you can drive it normal but on the low Rpm like 1000-3000 it happens

 

Hmm, do a compression test. Something like this happened to my integra and not too long after that my head gasket blew. Cause mine would hesitate, sputter and want to die if i mashed the gas but once it hit 4000ish RPM it drove fine. Those are just my two guesses at what it could be. Good luck though, wish I could be more help.

Fuel pump can go bad no matter how much is in the tank yes.

 

but why does it only happen when it's nearly empty ? and it seems like it under reved when it acts up

You could have faulty injectors also. Its more than likely fuel related.

 

Well he either is really just stupid, or just doesn't know how to write, because what I gather from his first post where he says, "and i have checked what codes it readin ,been to busy." He meant to say, I HAVE NOT checked what codes because he was to busy, then about 30 minutes later comes back and posts the code 17...

Also, buy a new car, maybe a Toyota, you fail at Honda's and HT as well.

Oh i found out my throttle cable is frayed...right in the grommet where it enters the firewall. So when it gets pulled by the pedal, the fray is pointing toward the engine bay, so it gets stuck by the wires frayed off it.

I'm not saying it's your problem but if you have a code fix the code!! You don't know what the computer uses for what calculations, but it only happens at 1/4 tank? Are you sure your gas gauge is reading accurately?
