likelyhood of boosting my 95 ex
was rather curious i know that with my ex being an auto, id still like to boost it for s%i@s and giggles and make it a bit more zippy, I was wanting to know if anyone here had an idea as to how much work and what all it would entail to boost the accord im thinkin like 6psi,
its a daily i know however im having to sell my 91 zc crx for this to be a more practical car and would still like to maintain a bit of power and not feel as though ive lost my legs metaphorically speaking of course.
lemme know
thanks

Ok, so obviously the first problem that comes to most people's minds is how the auto tranny will hold up. Short answer, not that great. However, it could hold LIGHT boost alright for a while if in good condition.
Just make sure you get a good tune. Fortunately you are still OBD-I so that relieves a LOT of headaches most people have when attempting this on newer automatics.
I'd personally pass as your probably just asking for trouble, but if you really want to do it, go for it. It's your car. Just make sure the auto is in good shape beforehand.

For ***** and giggles huh??? Well def not worth your time than. Idk anyone who boosts their car just to say they boosted it. Prolly gonna run ya round 1500 to do it also.
Because if you are looking to keep this car around awhile you are gonna have to spend a little coin.
Jwicecold says 1500 and sure it could be less. I've seen it done reliably. But if you don't have much experience with this stuff it'll probably end up running you at least that.
im gonna be sellin my rex soon and dont wanna feel like i got rid of my power

i managed to do my 5spd conversion for less then $400.
that includes beer and pizza for supper both nights.
You just gotta look around for stuff, ask people, you would be surprised what you come across.
The guy that I got my parts off of, I met him while working at the grocery store, he came up to my cash, a friend called him, said he was swappin a B18 the next day, and just went from there. Now me and him is good pals, he even helped me put in the standard, which is working great now......
but back to your main question, $#!+'s and giggles is not a good reason to put in a turbo, because why would you want more power if you didnt care?
if you do actually go through with boosting w/ the auto, then invest in a transmission cooler, otherwise it will be slipping like a hooker with a handful of KY.

<---Boosted.
If your doing the work your self you could maybe get by with a DIY DSM setup on the lower end of your options.. But if not be prepared to open your wallet.
Also, I find your comparison of the automatic entertaining and accurate! Haha
The key of course is: The people that have done it that way know how to do ALL of it themselves (including tuning). Doesn't sound like this will be the case for you OP, no offense. I'm going to stick to my guns and say let this idea go for now. Wait until you can at least do the manual swap.
Now don't get me wrong, I personally agree that spending a few grand will get you a great working turbo setup. However, it has been done RELIABLY for much less.

3-4,000$ if not and will most likely be more...
This is for a QUALITY setup..
Well in that case I see where your coming from. Also If you already have all those parts you wont have to spend much more to get it setup!!! Might just be worth your time after all!! ;-)
