Need help on choosing a camber kit??
Hey
MY current setup rite now is the eibach prokit with the koni yellow shocks on a 2000 acura integra GS. Recently i have noticed on my front driverside wheel i have uneven tire wear on the inner treads. I did an alignment and everything and it showed up that i had -1.10' and -1.17' from left to right. In the front wheels.
My question is what kit should i use from ingalls. The 3571 or the 3573 ??
with the 3573 kit i would have postive camber or caster. while with the 3571 kit i would have a bit of negative camber.
what would be my best choice???
Thanks any help is greatly appreciated sorry for the long post
It's sad I have the ingalls kit with the urethane bushings installed and I can't recall which one it is. I can find out though. Don't worry about caster...doesn't do much on our cars(or any other FWD for that matter). You got the negative camber blues. I'll look up the stock specs in the morning. Former alignment tech, if I can't get it from the Helms...I'll get it off a Hunter computer.
You won't go far wrong with a 0 or very slightly positive setting at any rate. Just remember that 1 full degree of positive camber(1/2") will dramatically change your toe. I'd do the camber kits, and immediately get it to an alignment shop...preferably one you trust with a quality Hunter computer D111+.

Hey
Thanks alot. Yeah im stuck in the middle ingalls makes 2 kits the adjustment ranges from -3/4° to 1° and +1.25° to 3°. So with my numbers -1.10' and -1.17' in the front. That leaves me not alot of options either i go with one kit and still have a slight negative camber. or go with the other kit and have positive camber?
Which kit should i use ??? rubber or poly urathane?? i dont wanna be replacing one tire all the time. its just one tire that has the inner wear on the tires.
Also, how hard is it too install these kits on the integra??? could you outline the procedure??? thanks again for your help

I dont understand why increasing camber increases toe but I will take your word for it as Ive read it many other places as well. Is this theory true if I lower my car lots, then correct the extreme camber with a camber kit - would that fix my extreme toe?
Who does lifetime alignments?
Who does lifetime alignments?
Well if you think about it logically then changing camber(the agle between the ground and the cenerline of the wheel/tire combo) will effect Toe(the parallel of the wheels). Nope. Do as I suggested, install the camber kits...eyeball it if need be or use a level, but get it to an alignment shop pronto. They will set the camber to proper specs...and THEN they will set the toe. One guess why they do toe last.
Just make sure you make them aware that you have a camber kit, or they'll just "set the toe...and let em go". Alignment shop mantra. If possible bring them the install directions so the tech can study the mechanics of it...ya never know what they'll know otherwise. Toe will destory your tires in DAYS if it's way off. It's aproximately 7x faster at destroying tires than is camber with equal + or -. Think about a tire being dragged across pavement diagonally and you will get the picture. OUCH!
Lemme know how it turns out.
