I would say if it's only $8 then try it out and see for yourself. I say that, because I'm sure lot's of people would just say it sucks, and it's very possible that it will, but I'd be interested to see how it actually performs. Spray some stuff with it and let us know.
Like i said i have an EF sedan trunk i'm going to pound with a hammer so i can practice with some bondo work. Well, not applying the bondo, but feather-edging and smoothing.
I'll paint first, see how it looks, then beat the **** out of it and start bondo, then paint over that.
I bought a very similar gun of ebay for like 20 bucks and the thing was crap man. I wasted a lot of time prepping parts and then having to resand them down again and ended up using a rattle can because the gun would spit **** out and would not spray good at all.
i had one of those guns.shot a lot of parts with it.i also used it for composites.shooting pva and thinned down gel coat.i thought it worked pretty good for the price.the cup started leaking where it screws into the gun.i got plenty of life out of it.
If you don't have a high cfm compressor then that gun would actually work best but you should get a 1.3-1.4 tip. Most high end guns require 10+ cfm. I use Sata and they require around 14 cfm. If you're getting it for 10 bucks then you can't go wrong. I knew a guy that had a harbor freight gun that looks like that but with a 1.4 tip and got it for $40. He was an experienced painter and got really good results with his. I guess the gun is good but the only problem is that it just might not last too long and replacement parts may be hard to get. But for $10 bucks, that gun can be disposable. Just throw it in the trash when you're done and don't even bother cleaning it. lol. j/k...

I'll look into the spare tips as well.
