HELP!!! Accord problems
Hey everyone,
I just wanted some input or theories concerning my Dad's Accord.
My dad owns a 94 Accord EX automatic and at times when you try to start the car, the engine check light comes on and the D4 light on the instrument panel starts to flash. Whenever this happens the car never starts. The engine turns over, but never fires up. However, when you take the key out of the ignition and wait for 10-15 mins everything is fine again and the car starts again. I have no idea what the problem could be. Any help would be great....
Thanks
Also, it tends to happen more on hot days.

Thats a wacky one... flashing D4 indicates a transmission problem, and in your situation, check engine lamp indicates an ignition failure..
The tranny is not affected during startup and thus will not throw a P700 code (D4 lamp flashing), but yours is doing that...
I would definately examine the ecu here, it is located underneath the carpet where the passengers feet would be.. the transmission control unit is also located here mounted right next to the ECU...
Next time the car is being stubborn, try tapping on the controls units and see if it will fix the problem... you can also unplug the connectors of the ECU/PCM to see if the terminals are clean and not corroded due to moisture... you may be in for a long run here and might be a bitch to figure out...
