when the car is running and you take out the plug wire and get little to no response out of the motor....what does this mean... my car runs like crap all of a sudden(stock auto z6)...1st -3rd cyls gets good spark and wants to shut down when i take the wire out...now, the 4th cyl gets very little to no spark when i take the wire out and i get no response from the motor....any suggestions...

 

check the resistance of your plug wire, check the gap of the plug, etc. look at number four cylinder contact on the distributor cap.

 

ok cool...so nothing internal...

 

make sure the injector is pulsing. Use a long handle screwdriver as a stethoscope to hear if it's clicking. Change out your cap/rotor, plugs, wires if they're old, or new and this just happened. Do a compression test if you can...

 

Do all this, and try disconnecting your battery for 30 seconds or so.
