95 SI: WAT TOOL TO USE ON BRAKES?HELP!!
i want to know wat tool is best to use on the rear brakes of my 95 si hatchback...brakes need change and i know that you have to turn them in instead of pushing them in so i just want some insights on wat i should use....any help is appreciated..
i was able to do do mine with a thick flat head screwdriver. just wedge it in one of the grooves and unless your stuffs seized or something it works.
screwdriver works, i've even used needle nose pliers lol. I know at local parts stores, autozone where i'm from, they have a little box type tool that can be used. It fits on the end of a 3/8 extension so you can use ur rachet to turn it

what would be prefect is the end of a small pry bar, i used to have this sweet snap on pry bar set with a tiny one that would have been awesome for this purpose...

Just need that, a 3/8th ratchet and extension. It helps to have someone hold the caliper tight for you, while you turn it.

Honestly, I didn't even know that Civic calipers were like this, and don't remember having to do that with my front calipers (rear drums). Is it that the rear calipers are like this, or that certain models had calipers like this, or that I didn't do mine properly?

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
It's only the rears that do that because of the E-brake.
Make your own tool with scraps you got laying around.
You'll need 2 small bolts or pins
1 small metal plate
1 socket you're willing to trash
Drill 2 holes in the metal plate so you can put your pins/bolts through the plate.
Weld pins/bolts to plate
Weld a socket and the other side of the plate.
Do brake job
Short of a welder, you can actually do all that with bolts/nuts and no welds.

Rent this every time I do brakes from Autozone. Get your money back when you return it.
