91 honda prelude si b21a1

im trying to put my belt on my alternator but everytime i put it on & crank the car, it comes off. what am i doing wrong or what do i need to do better?

Make sure it's the right belt, all the way on, and with proper tension. (proper tension: while pushing on the belt, should move a 1/2" or so.
