I Have a B16 and I recently installed a itr intake cam, but now I have a problem that only appears in 1st gear after vtec has engaged. Its sounds and feels like the vtec is turning on and off or the rev limiter is kicking in. I have adjusted the timing.
Need help! I can't figure out what it could be.

Plus on the side note my motor has no power; I got beaten by a stock d16a6 at the track. Don't know what’s up. HELP!!!

you could have gotten a beat motor...take it somewhere and have the compression checked...and are you sure your vtec is working?

 

I can hear the vtec kick in and it works fine in the other gears. It has only stared recently.
