Last night I went to our local strip and after some runs I ended up with a broken DSS stage 5 axle.
I have a question, Can I just buy the axle without cv's?

I Broke my dss 5.9 on 2nd gear and they fix that with no charge they r good peolpe and they r fast just call them they will take care of that

 

i just did that with some hasports axles on friday mine looks just like yours lol...

 

i planed on buying some dss 2.9's hopefully this wont happen again cause my car shouldnt be breaking axles like this based on the power im making and preloading like i am. its good to here people posting up about dss and the customer support, i was wondering if they really warranted there axle's like they say.

 

i love my 3.9's one of the best mods you can do for drag is axles.

I bought them from Ben @import parts.

Hey, just a quick update. this was one of the 1st level 5 sets of axles with the 33 spline outer (not 5.9) its 7 years old and has a 32 spline bar like the 2.9 axles now have. not bad for a 750hp car ? 7 years later.......

 

Just because the axels are old doesn´t meen how long they have been used in the car.. I bought parts myself in the beginning of my own projekt that are still brand new 10 years later.. Age does not have to mean thay have lasted in the car for a very long time.. When you are in europe it could take months to get parts.. So get the parts early and plan the whole project early is important.. In mean time plans can change and the project takes longer..

At the end of the day DSS is the best and stand behind their stuff.........

 

I cant believe how clean they have sheared, is it the actual shaft that breaks usally or does the c.v go first?

 

Well we just broke are gator axles shifting into 3rd with 570whp out of a b16 so we decided to order some dss 5.9 axles is good to see people having good luck with them and having such great customer service.

 

Yeah i have read and they have the same spline count as the 2,9 now.. Thats it.. Cut the attetude..

I have a set of 5,9 my self and I have broken a few sets of gator and will not hesitate to get another set of dss.. I am not trying to talk **** about dss.. Just saying that because they are a 7 year old design doesnt have to meen that they have benn beaten on for 7 years..
I don´t remember what the old design was rated at but I would think it wouldent breake like that if the car had to much power..

 

Driveshaft Shop stated that they were like the 2.9's of today which are rated for 500hp. I think that is a damn good design for the day keep up the great work DSS!!


P.S. I have to send my ancient 2.9's out to be repaired lol.

First of all I would like to thank Frank @ Dss for his good service that he is giving me and also
these shafts I bought them about 4 years ago and never had problems on a 500hp Integra , last year I decide to built a Civic and put more power and they holded quite good for the power I have now.

It,s been a while since I posted for the problem I had with the axles.

Now thanks to Frank@DSS my new axles arrived and put back on my car.

Now I have the 5.9 axles

the 5.9s arent cheap, but well worth every penny. thats an upgrade i wont ever regret. (i had the "green" ones before)
