SI Tranny into LX
I have a 93 lx with a manual tranny and I am looking to upgrade to a SI tranny. Would this be a direct swap and is there a write up anywhere here? I tried searching but could only come up with auto to manual swaps. Im pretty handy when it comes to cars but havent dealt with the tranny yet. Also, whats a good price to offer a guy for an SI tranny cause I found someone selling one and said to make him an offer? Thanks!
direct bolt on, if your handy with cars then just remember the way you took it off, exact same, just opposite, i wouldn't pay more then $250 for an si tranny depending on condition...
great up grade though, you'll like it....not much power from the motor but the tranny will make up for it, but don't expect to destroy everybody at the track with it....lol

Yes, I was referring to the eg SI. And I dont expect to beat anyone. I dont race. Just get me to work and back with a little more umph! Would it be unreasonable to offer him 150? And does anyone have a diy or a copy of the helms that covers it? Thanks!
$150 is completely reasonable. Check it over before you buy it, make sure that A. its actually an Si tranny and B. make sure you ask if it was grinding (1st and 4th aren't too bad because you can just use DX/LX gears as they are identical, 2nd/3rd are exclusive to the EX/Si though, so is 5th, although you can use a DX/LX 5th and it wont make much difference.)

do your clutch and flywheel at the same time. if you dont know how to do it, just follow these instructions.

just substitute the si transmission for the reinstall process.
although its pretty straight forward without instructions. only thing good about them is the pictures and the torque specs.
