Icon6 Never replaced ball joints or Tie rods... time to change ?

So I've been searching through my service records dating back to 1990 and there is no record of
ball joints or outer tie rod ends being replaced. The previous owner kept all records on a Microsoft Word document, so it's easy to search for.
My Crx has 248,000 kms (154,000 miles)

Should I replace them now ?
I have to do the front wheel bearings now as well since they are noisy.

not necessarily but since you have to press in the new wheel bearings along with the lower ball joints anyways you might as well knock it out all at once.

just for the hell of it you should probably just do the tie rods as well...moog makes some really good tie rod ends also along with the lower ball joints.

Moog tie rods are sealed with a premium polychloroprene to keep out dirt, and include a grease relief valve that allows debris to be flushed out when the vehicle is being serviced, giving Moog tie rods a longer life.

Do it Rob, those poor peaces saw the Soviet Union in their end days, time to change them out especially giving the weather conditions they would have been exposed to in Canada-stan.

Yes! I'm going to do the moog ones as well in the fall, so it'd be great to have a fresh write up by then (the manuals are never enough)

I think it's definitely worth the few extra $$ to go for moog. You'll not have to replace them again till at least 2040! They also do very good balljoints, I've got a set of lowers waiting to go in.

My upper balljoints were toast, one dangerously ready to break, and one inner and one outer tie rod are also totally done, and my chassis has 255,000km.

I installed the Skunk2 adjustable-balljoint UCAs for about the same price as OEM replacements, I'd recommend that as well.
