okay so i just got my expansion valve done. -200 bucks for ac.

Driving today and cars acting up. AC turning in and out. idles bad. Get to a stop and overheating. yaaaaaay. Go check and belts gone compressor froze up. good fight me. So i dont feel like fixing it so i got AUTOZONE ! and find a belt i can bypass the compressor.

But thats not the thing i need help on guys. I heard that you can upgrade to the 5th gen ac system. so can this only be the compressor or what? Also Just because it froze up can i just go get a clutch for the compressor ? thinkin a junkyard? i dont wanna have to go release all the freon then have to go put more in it. that what im trying to avoid.

Help me out guys. sorry if some of this is in the fyi im just trying to get answers fast so i can do this. no ac in florida sucks...

No AC here so I wouldn't be able to help you there .. but I just wanted to post and let you know that with that kind of thread title you will not get a lot of specific answers pertaining to your question .. start a new thread titled along the lines of "AC system failure, need parts, need help.."

if the clutch is bad(froze up), you can just replace the clutch without getting a whole new compressor.
