Default crx zc engine swap ecu codes 4 7 14

help...

installed 1st gen zc engine in 89 dx crx... using pg7 ecu from 88 89 integra. installed engine using a harness conversion from honda guy on ebay. engine starts and runs at 2000 rpm with a hit / miss sound like it is on the rev limiter.... it is running very rich..... check all wiring connections and all appears good. getting codes 4, 7, and 14 from ecu..... don't want to throw parts at the problem.

code 4 is crank angle sensor

code 7 is throttle position sensor

code 14 is idle air control valve.... can't believe this is bad...

any suggestions?

You kind of answered your own question.

Edit: Swap out those parts with known working ones. Fix them and then come back with what happened.

Code 4 is due to the fact that, your engine harness has been converted over to PGM-FI. However, you still have to follow up at the ecu pig-tale side. You can do so by either splicing the needed wires or de-pining and repining in the appropriate slots.

For the TPS and IACV it can either be loose wires within the harness itself or it can be faulty sensors. Before buying new sensors you might want to put the effort into actually opening up the harness that you bought off of some guy on ebay and make sure that he hasn't screwed you over.

And always make sure that you are plugging in the right plugs to the corresponding sensors.

For a fact, your harness is a dx/standard harness converted over to PGM-FI by someone else who you can not trust until you have withness him do it in front of you. So you are required to retrace his steps along with yours.

You can search PGM-FI conversion for civic/crx dx. It has been covered so many times and is a sticky in the fact forum.

And once you fix the Crank angle sensor, if I am not mistaken it is the same as the crank position sensor or CPS for short, then you can idle all the way to little old red line.
